Hydrophobic means to repel water. Applying a hydrophobic coating to a surface can help the surface repel dirt and residue for easier cleaning. These types of coatings also have an oleophobic property, meaning that oil and grease is also repelled. Knight Optical provide Hydrophobic Coatings to wide range of protective windows made from materials such as BK7 or equivalent, UV Fused Silica or Borosilicate. Benefits for hydrophobic are that is: Optically Clear Easy-to-Clean Fingerprint and Smudge resistant The properties of the optical component itself remain unaltered meaning it does to hinder its current application or require a redesign. This coating would be a custom item and can be applied to most of our stock optical components. If you would like to discuss how a hydrophobic coating can enhance your application contact our technical sales team whom can assist. Read PDF for full specification

UV aluminijasta prevleka za spektrometre - Knight Optical ponuja široko paleto optičnih komponent

Knight Optical provide a wide range of optical components present in a spectrometers, specifically mirrors and prisms with a UV Aluminium coating to enable the detection of UV wavelengths from 180nm. UV wavelengths can be hard to detect without the use of this coating and can make results inaccurate. Knight Optical UV Aluminium coating allows wavelengths between 180-650nm to reflection at an average of of 85% which is not achieved with Enhanced Aluminium which cuts on at 400nm and primarily for the visible region and above. The coating can be applied to Prisms and Mirrors, either from stock or custom. It is also worth noting that the coating has a protective layer which improves resistance to scratching and improves durability making it easier to clean. Read PDF for more details

Termalne slikovne prevleke Knight Optical so Diamond! - Termalno slikanje uporablja infrardeče materiale, kot sta germanij in silicij

Knight Optical are very experienced within the Thermal Imaging market, including anti-reflective and diamond-like-carbon coatings used on the optical components in these systems. Knight Optical know exactly what you are looking for. Thermal imaging uses infrared materials such as Germanium and Silicon, however in there raw form the transmission is not the best it could be. For example, Germanium typically transmits at <45% but with an AR coating applied, it can improve transmission to >60%. This increase in transmission means that the camera sensor receives a better signal through the protective window. Also with protective windows, we can provide high quality DLC coatings. We ensure the coating is Salt Fog Tested to MIL-SPEC standard to ensure that the coating withstands harsh environments. The coating has high mechanical hardness and high resilience to external stress. Read PDF for more information

Gas Detection Systems use Interference Bandpass Filters to identify the emission of a type of gas. Different gases emit at a specific wavelength which makes it identifiable when using a relevant Interference Bandpass Filter. These wavelengths are: Carbon Monoxide (CO) @ 4.73μm Nitric Oxide (NO) @ 5.24μm Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) @ 6.17μm Sulphur Dioxide (SO₂) @ 7.42μm Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) @ 3.55μm Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) @ 10.7μm Knight Optical provide a wide range of interference bandpass filters that can be used with gas detection. The Interference Bandpass Filters would be need to transmit in the infrared region. These would be a customised item, which we are very experienced in. We provide narrow, standard, broadband and extra broadband filters with a high optical density of 4 as standard, however this can be customised for you. LiDAR komponente za atmosfersko zaznavanje - Lahko ponudimo oddajne in sprejemne okna ter zrcala za LIDAR sisteme

Knight Optical can offer transmit and receive windows and mirrors for LIDAR systems using visible, NIR (0.9 to 1.5µm) and Mid-Waveband Infra-Red (MWIR, 3 to 5µm) light. Since the 1960s, scientists have used LIDAR (light detection and ranging) to study the atmosphere. Short pulses of laser light are used to detect particles or gases in the atmosphere, like a radar bounces radio waves off rain drops in clouds. A telescope collects and measures reflected laser radiation, like a radar dish collects the radar signal, leading to a profile of the atmosphere's structure along the path of the laser beam. Researchers can then determine the location, distribution, and nature of atmospheric particles and molecular species using an advanced LIDAR method called the Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) technique. Linear sheet polarizers are used for a broad range of applications including the production of LCD monitors and TVs, photography and other lighting and entertainment systems such as projectors. Our UV and IR sheet polarizers extend the spectral range down to 290m for the HNP’B replacement material and HR is used between 800nm to 2000nm. We have extensive stock of HR material in 76.2mm square sheets. The range from 800-860 the HN7 type offers superior performance at a reduced price. Working below 800nm HN22 is an ideal choice. Knight Optical supply linear sheet type polarizers in a range of types. These sheet polarisers were formerly supplied by Polaroid/3M under the Vikuti brand. Although these sheets have since been made obsolete by the manufacturer, Knight Optical holds substantial stock of the original material including HN32, HN38 and HN42, and performance HN22, HN38S and HN42HE high extinction sheets Read PDF for information

Homogenizacijske palice za fluorescenčno slikanje - Optična dobava natančnih optičnih komponent za stranke v medicinski industriji

Knight Optical can offer Custom Homogenizing Rods for use within Fluorescence Imaging. Knight Optical supply precision optical components to customers in the medical industry for applications such as fluorescence illumination, microscopy and imaging. Homogenizing Rods are used within the application of surgical procedures; within systems designed to help identify which tissues have been exposed to the fluorescent indicator. The Light source will enter a light pipe at a variety of incident angles, which is designed to utilise its total internal reflection to channel the light from the entrance of the light pipe to the exit. The material’s refractive index is the only factor which affects the light pipes critical angle; this defines the angle of acceptance which the total internal reflection will occur at. With this it helps to control the light source being used in medical systems.
